A New Debate About Photoshopping

With Beyoncé’s unretouched photos going  viral, it brings up the age old debate about retouching. Recently, I visually explored the realms of beauty retouching in advertising with these dummy print ads.

Fashion and beauty photography in advertising has been the cause of debate over the amount of retouching made and accused of creating unrealistic expectations of what “real women” look like, in turn causing insecurities in the consumer. The question is: If beauty flaws were not retouched, would the product still sell?
