Hair and Beauty and what not…

So, I had a great idea and theme all planned out for this shoot, but when you book a stylist and they don’t show up you are pretty screwed…

Not wanting to waste time, hire gear and fabulous skills from Alexis Day (Hair and Make up) and the beautiful Ashley Harrison (Lenis Models) we cracked on.

We tried to shoot as per the story board but without wardrobe we switched it up and created some rather nice hair and beauty shots.

After months of sulking, that I didn’t get to shoot my masterpiece of an idea I’ve finally got around to getting my favourite images up.

Sneak Preview

So after a lot of thought… I wanted to give you guys a sneak preview of what I’ve been up to. (I soon realised that I missed updating my blog).

Since my last blog post, it doens’t appear that I have been up to much, but apart from collating images and planning new shoots for my folio, I’ve been assisting the likes of Darren Feist and Bille Scheepers. Both great Hair and beauty photographers.

The first, was the most chilled out shoot I’d had in a long time, simple beauty with my fab team, Eve Taylor Manning and Angel Sayers. The Model was Elke from Bookings.

The second was another concept shoot in collaboration with Radim Malinic. I’m not going to spoil it by saying too much but there was a lot of fabric involved and the lovely Sajida Burnett made a dress for us that Camilla from, Storm Models, wore fantastically well.

Team: Angel Sayers, Eve Taylor Manning – Hair and Make Up. David Drew, Charles Thompson, Alex Loan-Rees – Assistants and Video.

2010 round up

So I know I’ve not posted any new work for a while, the simple reason is that I’ve been super busy getting my new folio and website ready. Plus working on some new ideas for photoshoots and videos.

I’ve spent the last few months of 2010 shooting and retouching hair and beauty. With the help of an amazing retoucher named Robert Dewey, I think my images are nearly ready for printing.

From mid January 2011, my blog will move over to my new website at www.nathaliegordon.com.

Thank you for taking the time to check it out!

The Alternative

I’m A little sad that Fashion Week has ended here in London, so I felt like creating a little mini story from some existing footage. You may remember the mass model day that happened down at Depot 14… well below is another edit from the same footage. I wanted to create a different atmosphere and this is quite a contrast to what actaully happened on the day.

beauty and what not

So I’m loving all the new retouching and lighting skills that I’m getting from other photographers and just playing about with different techniques. This was shot about a month or so ago. Its just a nice simple clean beauty shoot. Enjoy!

Make Up: Eve Taylor-Manning
